Terminator Salvation - Movie Trailer Review

The best part of any movie is the trailer. Now I watch, re-watch and review the only part of a movie that gets you excited... the movie trailer.

Terminator Salvation is coming out this weekend and a special four minute trailer is begging people to drop everything that they are doing and watch the beginning of the end.

The Terminator franchise is one of the few movie series where the second is better than the first, but it quickly took a nose dive with Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. After that Arnold became governor and the only sign of life was a disappointing television series which, the only thing it had going for it, was a hot teenage terminator.

Now we have what appears to be, not only the best Terminator movie, but the best post apocalyptic movie in quite a long time.

It starts with Judgement Day. Cities ravaged and the few human survivors wondering what the hell is going on. Then machines. Then more death and destruction. Then John Connor addressing the world and calling together all human survivors to become The Resistance.

The future is dark and grey. More robots and machines than you can shake a sawed-off at. The human resistance is fighting back hard against Skynet and their quest to replicate human tissue and create a new kind of machine.

Now, it is common knowledge that knowing too much about the future, will inevitably set into action a chain of events that will subtly change the future one beat at a time. The flapping of a butterfly's wings.

This future is not the one that John Connor was told about. His mother's attempt to prepare him for what was to come, and the actions taken throughout the past lead to a new, more dangerous future. It brings about a war that John has his doubts he is able to win.

The action that shouts from this trailer makes me want to watch the movie. Just as any good trailer will do, it grabs hold of you like a cold metal hand and does not let go. It pulls you in and threatens you with a mental explosion.

This is a movie that is a must see in the theater. I will make an extra attempt to see it as soon as possible. My only concern is hearing the Christian Bale, Dark Knight voice in too many of the scenes. I already pick it up at about 2:45 of the trailer.
